Ντουρουρου ρου Ρου ρου ρου ρου (a.k.a: το μπάσο του Safe From Harm)

Music black-out.

Hypocrisy

The U.S. and the west are worried about democracy in Iran...Meanwhile, in Palestine:

International law considers Israeli settlements on occupied Palestinian land illegal, construction companies continue to cash in on unprecedented settlement expansion.

Gavin Castleton - 90 East & Dark Age Details

Dark Age album (2004) notes
"Since 1995 I've played in the band Gruvis Malt. We have recorded cassette EP's, two disc EP's, and four full length albums. At this time I giving all my hours to music production and composition, engineering other bands' projects on the side. My goal is to release as much music in as wide a pallet as possible before I die. Currently, I'm getting the most enjoyment out of collaborations and pickup projects, and short bursts of touring with the band One Drop.
Playing American rock and roll has been the hardest and best thing I've ever done in my life. I sidestepped college and a solid paycheck in order to give my life to it. The emotional highs and lows of doing this are stressful, but I would rather be living those peaks and valleys than living a straight line."

Mono + A Storm Of Light @ Fuzz, Athens

Mono (Japan) played live in Athens, on Friday 10/4 (@ Fuzz) and the supporting band was A Storm Of Light (U.S.A.), another project of Josh Graham (Neurosis, Red Sparowes etc.). A Storm Of Light played in a doom/post manner, long drawn power chords, full of energy, but still kind of repeating in the end. Nevertheless, it was a clean and solid performance.
Mono appeared on stage after a while, but only to setup their equipment, since the amplifiers and the whole drum set was different. That kept on for a few minutes, and it was a bit tiring in the end. Finally they came back to begin their set. They performed as expected - whis means exceptional - but as their supporters, their performance came to a point where it was repeating itself. And this has nothing to do with the quality of their music, but the high similarity of each track's structure. All in all, it was a good gig.

65daysofstatic gig

I attended the Athens gig of 65daysofstatic yesterday @ Gagarin 205. A solid performance from the Sheffield post-rock/electronica band which really knew their stuff. The drawback was the little playing time (roughly one hour, which means 6-7 tracks),but, nevertheless, it was worth it, if you are into this music (or a fan:)). They performed some new tracks and some really classics from the album 'The Fall Of Math' - 'I Swallowed Hard,Like I Understood', 'Retreat!Retreat!','This Cat is a Landmine'...

Track: I Swallowed Hard, Like I Understood

All over the world

Buenos Aires (Greek)

Briefly, this is a highlight from a protest in Buenos Aires, a student is holding a poster that reads "Long live the rebellion in Greece".

Melbourne (Greek)

This is a case of a 15-year-old boy that got shot by three cops in Melbourne for stealing 2 knifes from a supermarket (as the police report says). It got compared to the Greek case of the 15-year-old. In my opinion, it's nothing like it.

Non music - police brutality

If you don't know this, there has been a police shooting on Saturday night in Athens, a 15 year old kid was killed. Since then in Athens, and other cities, riots have evolved. You can see the CNN link i've posted here for more.

missing thoughts

I've always been charmed by the fact that the thoughts of people are really not 100% passed to one another. There's always something left behind, like an image, a sentiment or simply the different way of approaching a thought.

It would be incredible to have a machine that projects in full sense what we think. But then again, I don't know if this would help, or make things worse.
